What is a windrow?
A windrow is the long ridge of heavy, compacted snow that a municipal plow leaves across the end of a driveway after clearing the street. Because the plow pushes snow from the road toward the curb, these piles are often dense and icy, making them much harder to shovel than freshly fallen snow.
How we work around windrows
We start servicing our routes as soon as 4cm of snow has fallen. If a snowplow has already come by at the time of our service, windrow removal is included. If a snowplow comes after our service and leaves a windrow, you may request a windrow service. Once ordered, we will return to remove the windrow, which will be billed at your per-push rate. On-call windrow services are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
